Singapore is amongst the leading cities to drive research efforts and explore the current technologies as part of its Smart City vision. Transportation is an integral part of this vision and EcoLabs will focus on two topics that will heavily impact urban environments like Singapore – Mobility as a Service (MaaS) and Urban Air Mobility (UAM).
The first segment on MaaS will provide insights into the trends that drive the implementation of MaaS solutions, sustainability mobility, case studies of MaaS in Singapore and project opportunities for mobility startups.
The second segment on UAM will shed light on a potential roadmap for UAM in Singapore, technology gaps that EcoLabs’ will look to plug and testbedding opportunities.
For this vision for the future of transporation to become a reality, deep collaborations between innovators, investors and policy makers are needed.

Dr Aravind Muthiah, Lead for Mobility and Energy Storage, EcoLabs Centre for Innovation for Energy
Aravind Muthiah is the Lead for Mobility and Energy Storage at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy. He is responsible for setting up labs and testbeds that are suitable for translation of prototypes, in the mobility sector (land, sea and air), to commercially viable products. In addition, Aravind works on due diligence, technology assessment, roadmapping and scoping of projects for SMEs/startups. He has a background in Chemical Engineering, Lithium ion battery material development and has previously co-founded a waste plastic-to-carbon nanotube upcycling company.
Ryan Jin, Lead, Smart City and Future Mobility, EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy
Ryan Jin Zhanhe, Lead (Smart Cities and Future Mobility) at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy at the Energy Research Institute @ Nanyang Technological University, Singapore (ERI@N).
Ryan Jin leads the Smart Cities and Future Mobility verticals at EcoLabs Centre of Innovation for Energy at NTU Singapore and is the Programme Manager for the EcoLabs-Continental Urban Mobility Accelerator (ECUMA) Programme. Ryan has extensive experience in managing Living Labs projects in Smart & Sustainable Cities. His current work involves identifying technological and business opportunities, developing partnership prospects, and supporting Singapore startup and SME for technology development and growth. Ryan also manages collaboration prospects in the Greater China market. Ryan completed his MSc in Project Management jointly awarded by the University of Manchester, UK and NTU Singapore, focusing on Managing Living Labs projects. He received his BSc (Hons) in Applied Physics from NTU Singapore.
